Heart Root Necklace - Idaho Garnet & Pearl
Nothing says autumn like the earthy smell of a freshly harvested beet! I love these little veggies - good for the heart on all the levels. Anyone else remember the book Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins? I hand-fabricated this lmost diminutive of heart roots from scratch - melting down old silver jewelry and scraps and rolling the ingot. For good measure, I bead set a 3mm deep red Idaho garnet. Oxidized satin finish for an old world feel. The charm hangs from a baby carabiner that screws open and closed, and connects a strand of heavily textured, natural, river pearls that I hand-knotted onto brown silk. Each pearl masures approx. 4mm, and the strand measures approx 18 inches from end to end. You can also wear the pearls on their own, without the charm, by removing it from the carabiner, or add on other charms from your collection. Lots of possibilities with this setup!
