Skully Signet - Montana Sapphires

A beautifully weighty signet with an oval face, which I hand-carved and lost wax cast, and ornamented with a one of a kind, hand-engraved skull, set with a pair of deep blue, star set Montana sapphires for the eyes. The sapphires measure approx. 1.75mm in diameter. Brushed satin finish for an old world feel. This ring measures size 8 on a ring mandrel and tapers to a width of approx 3.5mm at the back, and should fit true to size. Happy to resize for you up to three full sizes down or two full sizes up - please reach out after placing your order.

My take on the time tested Memento Mori theme, popular during the Victorian era. Memento mori, memento vivere is Latin, and translates to "remember you will die, remember to live" -  a reminder that time is precious and fleeting, but also that painful endings are inevitably followed by new beginnings - the perennial nature of the cycles of life, death, and rebirth.

All my work is handmade using traditional goldsmithing, stone-setting, and hand-engraving techniques, with my own two hands and a lot of heart and soul.
