Swivel Ring - Iris Amethyst & Citrine - Size 8

My first ever swivel ring! Two years ago my path as a jewelry was irrevocably changed when I visited the ancient jewelry exhibit at the ROM in Toronto. The exhibit includes a number of swivel rings set with scarabs that were created by goldsmiths in ancient Egypt - some of which are over 4000 years old! I've been thinking about and marveling at those rings ever since so when I saw these fair trade certified Iris amethyst scarabs I knew I needed to try my hand at a swivel ring! This one is completely hand-fabricated using reclaimed sterling silver. Since the scarab is symbolic of the sun and cycles of death/rebirth/renewal, I decided to set the reverse side of the swivel with a deep brown/orange citrine surrounded by delicate hand-engraved sun-rays. This ring best fits size 8 and also doubles as a pendant. Hang it from a chain and wear it with either the scarab or the sun facing out. Hope you love!
