Wayfinder Necklace - Montana Sapphires

The Wayfinder Necklace. A reminder that the sky is always there for us to set our weary eyes upon and be awed, humbled, comforted, and steeped in the truth of our belonging. This is the first iteration of this design in half a decade! I've handmade it from scratch, reclaiming silver from my own scrap horde and milling it by hand. All of the texture is created using traditional hand-push engraving and depicts the night sky with a Big Dipper aka Ursa Major made from seven ethically mined Montana sapphires from the Missouri River in a gradient of shades from pale blue to teal to royal blue. The border is stamped at the cardinal directions to evoke the compass rose. Follow your own truth; your inner guide. I chose a beautiful dapped bar and link satellite chain to hang the pendant from; continuing with the celestial inspiration. Measures approx. 19 inches from end to end, and can be worn shorter by hooking the lobster clasp into any of the oval links in the chain. 

All my work is handmade using traditional goldsmithing, stone-setting, and hand-engraving techniques, with my own two hands and a lot of heart and soul.
