Free Bird Necklace - Royston Turquoise

The Free Bird Necklace: Matisse-inspired doves; birds of peace, a dream I'm still clinging to in my heart of hearts. Each dove is hand fabricated using reclaimed sterling silver that I melted down and forged myself, and then overlaid with 24 karat gold using an ancient Korean technique called keum boo. A teardrop shaped, bright blue turquoise from the Royston mine is carried by the birds. An offering, if you will. I chose heavy, sturdy rolo chain to finish this piece off. Adjustable from as short as you'd like up to 19 inches. Finished with a hand-forged clasp. Oxidized and brushed satin finish for an old world feel.

All handcrafted using traditional metalsmithing techniques, with my own two hands and a lot of heart and soul.
