Luna Posts
My new dailies! In April 2024 I went to the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto and could not pull myself away from the ancient jewelry exhibit. It moved me deeply and irrevocably and changed my path as a jeweler. Among the many awe-inspiring designs I saw were Lunula designs made by Bronze Age Celtic goldsmiths and later revisited and made ubiquitous by Roman goldsmiths. In Roman culture young girls and women wore Lunula amulets to ward off evil and bring good fortune, while boys and men wore bulla amulets. The wholesale adoption of the Lunulae by Roman women speaks to the powerful connection between women and the moon, a connection that remains just as powerful and true today as it did thousands of years ago.
When I was designing my Lunula amulets, I decided to create a diminutive version too, originally thinking they'd be super cute as charms - and now they've evolved into the most perfect daily wearing post earrings. These little moons are quite sculptural, beautifully rounded to ensure there are no sharp edges or points, and in form they stay true to the ancient designs that inspired them. They come with big silicon ear nuts for maximum comfort. These can be worn around the clock ;) Three pairs available.
