Roman Hoops

I've been wanting to try hand-forging a pair of hoops for yearsssss! Ironically, hoop earrings, which are possibly the most iconic and simplistic of all earring styles, are a bit intimidating as a maker, since they require moving parts, ie hinges. Turns out the mechanics are really fun to dial in and there's something incredibly satisfying about hearing the little click when the ear wire pops in. These hoops have 8 torch made beads inspired by ancient Roman granulation techniques, and I've left all the wonderful texture that comes with forging intact, rather than polishing it away. The wire is a little thicker than the usual ear wire so if your ears are sensitive or have very small holes, these may not be ideal for you.

All my work is handmade using traditional goldsmithing, stone-setting, and hand-engraving techniques, with my own two hands and a lot of heart and soul.
